Using Cursor AI Editor with PayPerQ
Learn how to integrate Cursor, the AI-powered code editor, with PayPerQ for enhanced development workflows.
What is Cursor?
Cursor is a popular AI-powered code editor built on VS Code that integrates advanced AI capabilities directly into your development environment. It's designed to enhance productivity by providing intelligent code completion, refactoring suggestions, and natural language code generation. Many developers are drawn to Cursor for its seamless AI integration and familiar VS Code interface.
Can You Use Cursor with PayPerQ?
Unfortunately, Cursor does not currently support custom OpenAI-compatible API endpoints.
Unlike many other AI coding tools, Cursor's architecture is designed to work exclusively with official OpenAI and Anthropic APIs. This means you cannot configure Cursor to use PayPerQ's OpenAI-compatible endpoint (https://api.ppq.ai), even though PayPerQ supports the standard OpenAI API format.
This is a limitation of Cursor itself, not PayPerQ. The Cursor team has built their editor with hardcoded API endpoints that cannot be modified by users.
But don't worry! There are several excellent alternatives that work perfectly with PayPerQ and offer similar or even better functionality than Cursor.
