Introducing Private Whisper — AI-powered Voice Dictation That Works Everywhere
Private Whisper is a lightweight desktop app that turns your voice into clean, polished text — in any app, on any platform. Hit a hotkey, speak, and watch your words appear. No subscriptions, no accounts, no hassles.
Don't Type. Just Talk.
Typing is a bottleneck for productivity, especially in the age of AI. Whether you're vibe-coding, drafting an email, using Slack, messaging friends on Whatsapp, or brainstorming in a notes app — your voice is faster than your fingers.
Private Whisper is a desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux that sits quietly in the background until you need it. Press a hotkey, speak naturally, and the transcribed text appears wherever your cursor is.
What makes it different from previous dictation tech? Private Whisper doesn't just transcribe — it cleans up your speech. Filler words like "um" and "uh" disappear. Rambling sentences get tightened. The output reads like something you wrote, not something you said.

Key Capabilities
- One-hotkey dictation — Press a single key to start and stop recording. Toggle mode or hold-to-talk, your choice.
- AI-powered cleanup — Raw transcriptions pass through PPQ's reasoning models to remove filler words, fix grammar, and produce polished text.
- Works in any app — The text pastes directly into whatever application has focus: Slack, VS Code, Chrome, Notion, Terminal — anything with a text field.
- Cross-platform — Native builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- No account required — Fund your balance with crypto (as little as 10 cents) or a credit card and start dictating immediately.
- Privacy-first — Audio is processed in the cloud for transcription only. Conversational data is stored locally on your machine.
- Handles accents and background noise — Cloud-based transcription models handle diverse accents and less-than-perfect recording environments.
How it works
Download the app, set language, set accessibility permissions, and then plug in your API key. That's it! Heavy users spend an average of only $2.50 per month!

What is PayPerQ?
PayPerQ is the private way to use AI. You get the big-name models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI, the best open-source models, and TEE models that run inside a hardware enclave where not even the model's host can see your data. Chat, image, video and audio, all in one place, with no account and no subscription. You top up a balance with crypto or a card, from as little as 10 cents, and pay only for what you use. Most users spend about $4 a month, against $20+ for a single ChatGPT subscription.
Privacy is built in rather than bolted on. Every chat request is served inside a secure enclave that PayPerQ's servers, staff and logs cannot read into, so PayPerQ never sees your prompts or responses. Choose a TEE model and the model's host cannot read them either.
Why Use PayPerQ?
- Private by default - chats are served inside a secure enclave PayPerQ cannot read, and every chat model shows its privacy tier (Anon, ZDR or TEE)
- No account needed - no sign-up and no email; a credit id is all it takes
- Pay with crypto or card - Bitcoin, Lightning, Monero, stablecoins and more, or a credit card
- Hundreds of AI models from every major provider in one place
- Pay per use - no subscriptions; top up from 10 cents and pay only for what you use, about 1 cent per query on average
- Your history stays yours - conversations are stored on your device by default
